SEE ALSO THE UNITY RIDE INFORMATION:

The Maryland Department of Transporation is organizing a Unity Ride in solidarity with all those affected by the devastating accident on Wednesday, March 22nd, at the site of the I-695 TSMO project.

The Unity Ride will follow a designated route making a loop around the Baltimore Beltway. The key element throughout the ride will be for all participating drivers to adhere to the posted speed limit - taking careful note of the decrease in the enforced speed limit in active work zones.

When we come together as supporters of a common cause we can make a positive impact.

Our goal is to honor the six state highway workers who lost their lives and to remind the local community, and ALL those who travel our roads, that safe driving in work zones is a top priority for all Marylanders. There are often hazardous conditions, lane changes, and workers on-site at any time. By adhering to lane closures and changes, detours, and posted speed limits we can work together to prevent accidents and make our roads and work zones safer for everyone.
